Jack of All Trades Caretaker / Handyman / Security
Availability: Year-round. Preferred Locations: Rural settings. New Hampshire, or western US; but will consider any location or setting. Currently living in New Hampshire. Skills: Carpentry; electrical, plumbing, roofing, wall, appliance, consumer electronic repair. Computer literate. Own tools. Previous Experience: 11+ years in US Air Force, 1 year as sworn peace officer for State of Georgia, 3 years as general handyman/housesitter, various civilian telecommunications technician positions, private security officer for First Presbytarian Church of Macon, investigator, writer and editor. Caretaking and handyman work are real jobs. Renovations or major repairs are full time jobs, figure it at a minimum of $10/hour, 160 hours/month (or negotiated variant), payable in cash, or a negotiated combination of room/board and cash. Simple caretaker work ("watchman," basic maintenance and repairs, no major renovation project) would be much cheaper, but still calls for pocket money.
