Vernon Smith, Dork

This is Indiana State Rep. Vernon Smith (D-Gary).

Yes, someone actually elected this dork to public office.

Mr. Smith doesn't think people should be allowed to lock guns in their cars at work because... Well, I'll let the dork explain it:

Smith said he once became so angry at a man who was picking on him at a dance that if he had a gun, he might have used it. “It shows you that when you have a gun, how many times you don’t think,” Smith said.

Once I saw that picture, I just had to drop the Dork a note:

Mr. Smith,

I heard about your stupid little show. My immediate reaction was that you sounded more like an obnoxious twit than a respectable legislator. Then I saw the attached photo of your idiocy.

I now apologize to all the twits out there whom I insulted by associating them with you.

I understand that you don't think people should have guns because you don't trust yourself to maintain control when people pick on you (and seeing that picture, I imagine that happens a lot). That's called projection; compensating for your own inadequacies by pretending that everyone else is as bad.

We aren't. We're responsible. We're sensible. We don't shoot people if they try to pick on us.

If you have anger management and self-control issues, get therapy. But leave responsible gun owners out of it.

Oh, and I'm sure your election opponent will have a field day with that picture.
