K–12 campus visits

The Institute for Community Engagement and Scholarship offers an engaging and exciting half-day campus experience at Metro State University's Saint Paul campus!

Metro State established the Youth and Family Outreach Programs in 1994 to offer programming and educational activities for youth in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, while providing university students the opportunity to coordinate programs, develop leadership skills, and build professional working relationships with faculty, staff, and community organizations.

Who: Metro State students, faculty, staff, and community partners provide up to sixty (60) Middle or High School students with a fun, engaging, hands-on campus experience
What: Youth Campus Visits generally include a campus tour, two (2) activity-based workshops, and a Q&A panel with current Metro State students
When: Visits are available most Fridays from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. during the public school academic year
Where: Metro State University's Saint Paul Campus at 700 East Seventh Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106

Important Information and Instructions

  • Please complete and submit a Youth Campus Visit Request Form at least four (4) weeks in advance
  • Requests are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • A minimum of one (1) adult chaperone per ten (10) students is required
  • Please list at least three (3) desired dates for your visit, as your preferred date may already be filled
  • Please allow up to three (3) business days for request processing
